Hiring a Virtual Assistant

Recruiting a Filipino virtual assistant through MyVA.
Is the VA my employee, or MyVA's?
Yours. We recruit and vet, but you hire your virtual assistant directly, pay them directly, and manage them yourself. They're your team member from day one, we're just the recruiting arm that found them.
How long does it take to find a candidate?
Most roles land finalists in 3 to 4 weeks. Complex or senior roles can take 4 to 6.
How many candidates will I actually meet?
Typically two to four vetted finalists, not a stack of résumés to sort yourself. Less than 1% of applicants ever reach your interview.
What's included in the recruiting fee?
The full search: sourcing, screening, multiple rounds of interviews with multiple recruiters, reference checks, verified English fluency, and a short summary on each finalist. See the full breakdown on the Hire a VA page.
What should I expect to pay my VA?
You decide what to pay your VA, since you hire and pay them directly. As a guide, most roles run $5 to $10 an hour depending on the role, experience, and whether benefits are offered. Part of scoping your search is helping you land on a rate that's fair and competitive for exactly what you need.
What if the hire isn't the right fit?
That's what our 21-Day Guarantee is for. Every placement is guaranteed for 21 days, and if it doesn't work out in that window, we re-run the search for that same seat once, at no extra cost.
What if the role is more complex or senior?
The fee can run higher depending on scope. We'll always tell you upfront, before you commit to anything.
How do I pay my VA once I've hired them?
Whatever method works best for you both. Most clients use Payoneer, Wise, or Veem.

Benefits for Your Virtual Assistant

Medical, dental, and life coverage for a VA you already have.
Does giving my VA benefits make them my employee?
No. Your virtual assistant stays exactly what they are today, your contractor and your team member. We arrange the benefits in the Philippines, and it doesn't change your relationship with them or their status.
Do I need a Philippine business entity?
No. There's no local registration, no entity, and nothing for you to set up in the Philippines. You sign up here, and we handle enrollment with your VA directly.
Who is the insurance provider?
PhilCare, one of the leading HMO providers in the Philippines, with a network of over 1,700 accredited hospitals and clinics.
If my VA is hospitalized, what company name do they give?
Homebased Advantage. That’s the name on file with PhilCare that your VA gives at the hospital, even though you signed up through MyVA.
Can I split the cost with my VA?
That's between you and your VA, arrange it however works best for you both.
When does coverage start?
Complete enrollment by the 20th of the month and coverage starts the 1st of the next month. If enrollment is finished after the 20th, coverage starts the 1st of the month after that.
Is there a contract, and how do I cancel?
Coverage is month-to-month after a 2-month minimum. To cancel, email support@myva.ph before the 20th of the month and it takes effect that same cycle.
Does the policy need to be renewed?
No. Coverage stays active and bills monthly automatically until you cancel, nothing to renew.
Do you offer discounts for large teams?
Yes. If you're covering a whole team of VAs, email hello@myva.ph and we'll sort out team pricing.
Who is behind MyVA?
MyVA.ph is operated by PH Direct LLC, a U.S.-based company. On the benefits side, coverage is registered under our Philippine name, Homebased Advantage, that’s the name your VA gives at the hospital.
